Managed hives of honeybees appear to be spreading 2 viruses to wild bumblebees through the flowers they both forage. In a study of 19 sites within 300 meters of apiaries or more than 1 kilometer away, bumblebees foraging closer to apiaries had significantly higher risk of carrying the viruses.
