TIL TV executive Fred Silverman got the inspiration for Scooby-Doo's name from Frank Sinatra's hit song "Strangers In The Night." The syllables "doo-be-doo-be-doo" can be heard at the end of the song. Silverman used Sinatra's improvisation to help name the cartoon canine.
