TIL that in 1937, dancer Patricia Douglas was brutally assaulted at an MGM party. Instead of bartering her silence for a studio contract or cash, Douglas went public with her story and filed a landmark lawsuit. The studio covered up the crime and destroyed her life.

TIL that the US gave hallucinogenic drugs to soldiers to make sure they are prepared to exposure to chemical warfare. Between 1955-75 the army used 7,000 volunteer soldiers to test LSD, nerve agents, irritants, and blistering agents. Some volunteers were asked to workout & do math while on LSD.
