TIL that lemurs get high by seeking out millipedes and chewing on them. The millipedes release toxins when attacked, which intoxicate the lemurs. In addition to getting absolutely blasted, the lemurs use these toxins as an insecticide by rubbing them deep into their fur.

TIL in 2013, there was a train crash in Australia caused by millipedes. There were so many of them on the tracks that a train pulling into a station ended up losing friction from squishing so many of them and crashed into another train.
