TIL that Tony Iommi, of Black Sabbath, accidentally cut off the tips of two fingers on his right hand on his last day of work in a sheet metal factory. He was depressed, until his factory manager told him about Django Reinhardt- a guitarist who had also lost some fingers. It inspired him to play.

TIL 'God Save The Queen' by The Sex Pistols was set to be Number 1 in the UK Top 40 chart on the weekend of The Queen's Jubilee in 1977. The BBC and UK Charts Company fixed the sales and banned the song so that Rod Stewart would be number 1, denying the Sex Pistols the top spot.
